A wedding at The Bellevue Conference and Event Center in Chantilly, Virginia is a black-tie event in a Mediterranean-style hall of limestone columns, marble and crystal chandeliers. We love it because the Grand Marquesa room gives lighting and sound so much to work with, and three more spaces can host the rest of your weekend.
First, a quick note on names, since couples search for this venue a few different ways. Friends may call it the Bellevue Center or the Bellevue Conference Center. It is The Bellevue Conference and Event Center at 43350 Little River Turnpike in Chantilly, the road some maps label John Mosby Highway. Search results also mix in a Bellevue Hotel in another city and venues in Bellevue, Washington, so look for the Chantilly address.
About The Bellevue
The Bellevue opened in spring 2015 as a venue for corporate functions and black-tie affairs. Tours are by appointment only. Unlike a hotel ballroom, it exists for events, so the architecture is the decoration. A coordinator's vision can start from a room that already has real presence.
Here is how the venue describes its four spaces:
| Space | Size and height | Banquet with dance floor and stage | Character |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grand Marquesa | 11,200 sq ft, 26-foot ceilings | Up to 600 | Marble floor, limestone columns, crystal chandeliers |
| Bolour Room | 30-foot ceilings | Up to 200 | Modern, floor-to-ceiling windows |
| Milan Room | 3,300 sq ft | Up to 200 | White marble, smoke chandeliers |
| Vero Sky Lounge | 8,000 sq ft rooftop | Up to 200 | Open sky, Blue Ridge Mountain views |
Directories such as Cvent and WeddingWire print larger capacities for some rooms. We use the venue's own numbers above, and your coordinator's floor plan is the final word.
6 reasons we love working at The Bellevue
1. Twenty-five columns are a gift to a lighting designer
The Grand Marquesa has 25 towering Corinthian limestone columns. Pale stone takes color beautifully, and a row of columns gives uplighting a rhythm that flat walls cannot. Wash them in amber for dinner, shift to deeper color when the dancing starts, and the same room feels like a second venue without moving a single table.
2. Marble and height ask for careful sound
A 26-foot ceiling over a marble floor is a beautiful room and a lively one, because hard surfaces bounce sound around. Turning up two large speakers makes that worse. We prefer to spread sound through the room at a sensible level, so the toasts stay clear at the far tables and the bass stays tight on the floor. This is the kind of room where a proper sound plan pays for itself.
3. The private staircase makes the entrance
The venue describes a private staircase that lets the couple make a grand entrance, and one bride on its testimonials page compares it to the staircase in Beauty and the Beast. Give that moment a real cue. Your MC calls the families in, the lights drop, a spotlight finds the top of the stairs, and your song starts on the first step. For an Indian wedding, the same staircase could give a sangeet, the music and dance night before the wedding, a strong opening.
4. Twenty-four-foot arched windows change the room at sunset
Arched windows that tall bring in plenty of daylight, so an afternoon ceremony in the Grand Marquesa needs little help from us. After dark they turn into tall panels of black glass and the chandeliers take over. We build the lighting plan around the sunset time on your date, so the shift from daylight to party light happens on purpose.
5. Smaller rooms can carry the rest of the weekend
We played Supriya and Joe's wedding weekend in September 2017, which started with their sangeet at The Bellevue and moved on to Westfields Marriott in Chantilly for the Hindu ceremony and reception. That is a smart pattern for Indian weddings, and the Bolour and Milan rooms widen your options. At up to 200 banquet guests, either room suits a sangeet, a welcome dinner or a mehndi, the henna gathering before the wedding. The Bolour's 30-foot ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows read modern, while the white marble of the Milan will reflect whatever color we give it.
6. A rooftop gives guests somewhere to go
The Vero Sky Lounge is 8,000 square feet of open sky with views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. As a cocktail hour it lets guests leave the ballroom, catch the evening light and come back ready to dance. As an event space it can seat up to 200 with a dance floor and stage. Ask about the rain plan and any limits on amplified music outdoors before you commit to it.

Planning your event at The Bellevue
Two shapes work well here. In the first, everything happens in one day: ceremony, cocktails and reception. In the second, The Bellevue hosts one big night of a longer weekend, as it did for Supriya and Joe. A wedding this size often brings guests from out of town, and one couple on the venue's testimonials page mentions the proximity to the airport and nearby hotels. Cvent puts the nearest major airport at about 9.7 miles.
Questions to raise with the venue's coordinator:
- Room flip: If the ceremony and reception share the Grand Marquesa, how long is the changeover, and where do guests wait? Could cocktails move to another room?
- Catering: Cvent lists onsite catering and says outside caterers are allowed. Confirm the current policy, especially if your family has a favorite Indian caterer.
- Baraat: Where can a groom's procession start, and are a horse, a car, a dhol and amplified music allowed outside? Rules on these vary, so get a clear answer in writing.
- Ceremony fire: If your ceremony includes a havan, ask what is permitted indoors.
- Load in: What are the access times for the DJ, lighting team, decorator and mandap vendor?
- Hotel block: Which nearby hotels does the venue suggest for your guests, and is there shuttle access?
What Planet DJ brings to The Bellevue
For a Grand Marquesa reception, we would pair distributed sound with column uplighting, soft washes that leave the chandeliers as the focus and a monogram on the dance floor. A party motivator helps fill a room this large, because 600 guests need someone to give them permission to dance first. For a sangeet in the Milan or Bolour, we handle family performance tracks, stage microphones and a video screen if you want one. If the plan includes a baraat, our dhol players can take it from the parking lot to the door.
We have been playing fusion and Indian weddings around Northern Virginia since 1996, so a Catholic and Hindu weekend like Supriya and Joe's feels like home to us.

Frequently asked questions
Where is The Bellevue Conference and Event Center?
The venue lists its address as 43350 Little River Turnpike, Chantilly, Virginia 20152. Directories sometimes show the same street number on John Mosby Highway. Tours are by appointment only, so call or email the venue before you drive out. Its phone number is 703-868-8289, and it publishes info@thebellevueva.com as its email address.
How many guests can The Bellevue hold for a wedding?
The venue says the Grand Marquesa Room accommodates up to 600 guests in a banquet setting with a dance floor and stage. The Bolour Room, the Milan Room and the Vero Sky Lounge each accommodate up to 200 in the same setup. Directory listings show larger numbers, so ask for a floor plan based on your actual guest count.
Can you have an outdoor wedding at The Bellevue?
The Vero Sky Lounge is the venue's outdoor space, an 8,000 square foot rooftop with views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It can suit a cocktail hour or a smaller event. Ask the coordinator whether a ceremony can be held there, what the rain plan is, and whether any limits apply to amplified music.
Is The Bellevue a good venue for a sangeet?
We think so. A sangeet needs a stage for family performances, a dance floor and good sound, and the venue quotes every room with a dance floor and stage. The Milan and Bolour rooms hold up to 200 at a banquet, and larger sangeets can use the Grand Marquesa. Supriya and Joe held theirs here in 2017.
