I worked directly with Ateet for my three day, intercultural destination wedding, and am so glad to have been referred to him. “We used Planet DJ as our DJ, and I really enjoyed working with Ateet. Unfortunately I was not able to really have a conversation with my actual DJ (DJ Riz) prior to the wedding. Because of this, there were a couple of instances where mistakes were made (with announcements and entrances) that may have been prevented. Overall it was not noticeable (except by me lol) and all of our guests had a wonderful time, especially on the dance floor!”

“At the beginning, we thought we were getting DJ Riz, but the DJ abruptly got switched on us. If we had gotten that same switched DJ without further explanation, the review here would have been much lower. However, this is about how Ateet turned it around from the initial confusion. We ended up with DJ Biks as our DJ. With our experience with the Riz confusion, we were apprehensive about what this would entail. Biks is a celebrity DJ and constantly on travel. We only provided music we liked and had one call with the DJ, and we were worried he didn't truly get the chance to know us (he was incredibly pleasant, but it was only one call) On the day of, Biks completely BLEW US AWAY with his professionalism. Everything was played on time and perfectly. He did a fantastic job MCing everything, and the most incredible thing was that he had clear intuition in terms of understanding our guests. He knew exactly what got everyone moving, and completely played upon the vibe. I've been to many weddings, but at my own, EVERY SINGLE PERSON was dancing. I was blown away and couldn't be happier. At the end of the night, when it was just our wedding party and us dancing, he played the old rock oldies that none of the other guests would have enjoyed. For us, it was absolutely perfect. Biks truly knows how to read a crowd, and Ateet was great to make the call to switch to him. We were very happy with the service on day of, and we would definitely recommend this company. Their lighting is also fantastic.”

“We read about Planet DJ through wedding wire. We were looking for someone that can play a mix of English, Spanish and Albanian songs. The day that we met Agostino, he listened to what we wanted, made few suggestions for improvements, showed us sample videos but best of all he reassured us that his team will be able to pull it off. You could see that he has experience and passion for what he does, which we respect and felt more secure to go with Planet DJ. Fast forward to the day of the wedding, we met Jon the MC and Victor the DJ just few minutes before the guests started arriving. “Planet DJ productions provided DJ and lighting services for our wedding ceremony and reception. Ateet was so easy and fun to work with! He was always very pleasant and professional. Ateet happily accommodated our song requests, including some obscure pieces. We were also really impressed with Planet DJ's lighting; Ateet made sure to capture the look that we wanted. Although not related to his official duties, Ateet kindly helped us identify other vendors. Though overall we were very pleased, Planet DJ could have improved our experience in two ways. First, we had specifically uploaded a "do not play" list to their website and confirmed receipt. Unfortunately, the first few songs played by the DJ at our reception were from the "do not play" list. Second, we asked them about placing speakers around the perimeter of the floor in order to deliver balanced sound throughout the section. We were reassured that speakers were only needed adjacent to the DJ table (i.e., at the front of the dance floor). However, the music was markedly less audible at the rear of the dance floor. Despite these shortcomings, we were very happy with Ateet and Planet DJ and recommend him and the company highly.”

They were involved in our entire weekend: lighting/music Friday evening, ceremony production Saturday morning and the entire production for Saturday evening. “Planet DJ did music and lighting for our Friday night party and Saturday reception at our indian-jewish wedding. Let's just say we had a lot of specific requests: punjabi bhangra, hindi classical, vintage bollywood and 90s to modern hip hop, and some jewish culture thrown in. They covered it all perfectly without a hitch. On the Friday night the air conditioning at our venue broke on us, it was August in DC, so about 100 degrees. Everyone danced all night anyways, sweaty but having a great time. In large part due to the quality of the djs. they take the time to figure out your style and particular requests, they figure out what you are after, and they provide it. I don't think I've ever seen an entire crowd chant "one more song" over and over at a dj at the end of a wedding reception before. We had such an amazing time. They are flexible, responsive, and highly professional.”

Then it cleared up and the wedding could be outside...THey made arrangements. They were very accommodating. When it came time for the reception, they were great! “Planet DJ (and DJ Monica) was one our best vendor hires for our Indian-American fusion wedding; many, many guests commented on how great the DJ was. Having music that kept guests on the dance floor was a top priority for the wedding, and DJ Monica exceeded expectations. She knew exactly the vibe we wanted and was an expert at reading the crowd on the dance floor. If you give her general direction for the range/vibe of music you want, you can trust her to deliver. “Planet DJ Productions provided my husband and I with DJ, dhol and uplighting services for our DC wedding earlier this month. Our DJ was Monica Shah who was amazing from beginning to end. She met with us prior to our wedding and walked us through each step of the ceremony and reception and was extremely thoughtful in her guidance and recommendations. On the day of the wedding, everything was flawless- even my mom, who is rarely complimentary, said that she did a wonderful job. Our venue (Castle Hill) was a little unique so they put in the extra mile to travel all the way to Charlottesville for our wedding walk thru and came early to make sure all the power & connections were ready to go in our rustic barn setting. “We used Planet DJ for our Hindu and Christian wedding ceremonies, an afternoon tea hour, cocktail hour, and reception and they absolutely nailed it!! Our wedding was a really long day and we had very specific requests throughout-we wanted romantic Bollywood songs for our tea hour, classic rock for cocktail hour, southern soul for the dinner, Indian flute music during our Hindu ceremony, and specific tracks for our processionals/recessional during our Christian ceremony, and Planet DJ’s DJ Monica completely blew us away. Planet DJ was extremely flexible in the weeks leading up to our wedding, when we changed some of our songs and added several events to the docket, and DJ Monica did an excellent job emceeing our reception, to include doing a live fade in/out of several songs for our first dance, providing a specific track and microphone for a vocal performance by my mom, and mixing both Western-style and Bollywood-style dance tracks for the dance floor. Who else could mix the likes of Justin Timberlake and Nicki Minaj with multiple Bollywood songs and have an entire ballroom of guests of varying backgrounds raging the whole night?? It was awesome. Planet DJ also provided two beautifully lit-up trusses with moving lights that provided spotlighting, dance floor lighting, and even mood lighting during dinner, which all added such great ambiance to our event. Their online system is super clever and allows you to submit and change all of your requests in one place, making it very easy and convenient to communicate and make changes. All in all we were absolutely thrilled with Planet DJ and highly recommend them for any wedding, but especially those requiring a multicultural touch.”

They also provided our sound for our outside ceremony. The mics were of good quality and everyone was able to hear the ceremony clearly. The reception music was superb. Ateet provided an upbeat selection of both Indian and western music that kept the dance floor crowded all night. The music was the correct volume throughout both dinner and the dancing after. The process for creating your first dance/parent dance/must play/do not play list is very easy. They are also able to get other music if requested in advance. Additionally, if there are any special performances, they are able to cut the music properly. The uplighting for our venue was beautiful. Planet DJ is able to provide any color for the uplighting and the quality of the lights is stellar. We also used the fog for our first dance which was great. Kabir (the party motivator) was probably the best addition to our night. He was upbeat, engaged the crowd, and everyone loved him. He taught everyone Bhangra and he even ensured that we were well fed and brought us drinks. He and Ateet worked flawlessly together. We also hired the photobooth through Planet DJ. You receive an album with the photos as well as notes left by your guests. You also get copies via dropbox and dvd of the photos to share with friends. Overall, we can’t recommend Planet DJ enough. They are incredibly responsive to any questions or concerns. They provided feedback about our layout for the reception to make sure it would work. They were also able to talk us through the timeline to make sure it flowed perfectly. Kabir and Ateet provided everything we could have asked for from our DJ. “Planet DJ was flat out amazing. We used them for two events for our fusion wedding weekend. We had a traditional Indian pre wedding event and for which we used lighting and DJ services. Everything was without a doubt flawless. The dance floor was packed and DJ Riz was flowing well to play songs based on the crowd. I barely remember not dancing. Ateet was also able to be there for the event which was great. We had met with him to lock down things earlier and he was our main POC so it was nice to have him there. But everything was clearly relayed to DJ Riz which made us feel at ease. On Saturday we used planet DJ for DJ during our reception to play when our band was taking breaks as well as during dinner. In addition we used them to have a mobile DJ in Georgetown for my Baraat. They also arranged for one of the greatest dhol players ever. “Amazing all-in-one production studio that knows how to put together the ingredients to a jamming wedding. We got in touch with Ateet and his crew well ahead of time to book him, as the company gets booked up for multiples events even on the same weekend. We booked a combination of lighting and sound production and DJ for our multi-day Indian wedding…and boy did they bring the fire! First of all, they were extremely professional. They worked with us and were flexible even leading to the week beforehand to make sure our music plan and needs were in place. Their online music arrangement form was great, as it covered events in the wedding that we hadn’t even thought about. Second, they were extremely detail-oriented, working even with our photographers to make sure that they had the perfect shots. Third, their DJs do this again and again - so they know how to sense the audience vibe and play music accordingly. We had DJ Riz, who did our whole wedding weekend, and he CRUSHED it. He checked in with us with a conference call the week before as well to make sure all of our bases were covered; - Sound Quality and Acoustics - The sound quality and acoustics at the reception were excellent. His speakers produced a full and rich sound in our large tented reception. He also took care of the speakers for the string trio at our outdoor ceremony; - Song Selection - I am Indian and my now husband is white so we wanted a fusion reception that incorporated both Bhangra and contemporary American R&B/pop/rock. Ateet did an awesome job transitioning between the different music types. It was exactly what we wanted; - Energy and Demeanor - Ateet had excellent energy! As our emcee, he got the crowd up on the dance floor. He was easy to work with and many of our guests commented to us how great they thought that he was; - Open Air Photobooth - I highly, highly, highly recommend the open air photobooth! Our guests loved it! It was wonderful to have a copy of all of the photos from the photobooth after the wedding. This was money well spent! - Lighting - The only lighting we ordered from Planet DJ was two tower lights. We thought they made a minimal impact overall in the tent. However, this was not due to anything on the part of Ateet or Planet DJ. We would recommend working closely with a wedding planner or equipment vendor before making decisions regarding lighting. All venues, tents, and preferences are unique so this is a personal decision depending on what you want; - Flexibility - Ateet did a great job despite some wedding day obstacles from mother nature (rain and mud). “We had a 2 day South Asian Fusion wedding and we worked with Planet DJ Productions on both nights. They were amazing!! They provided the DJ, Bhangra Dancers, Dhol Player, Lighting, a custom GOBO and Lekos lighting (a design using lighting on our dance floor). I can’t tell you how great it was to get so many services from the same vendor…I only had to reach out to Ateet, our point of contact from the start, rather then keep track of different vendors for each service. We had lots of questions regarding lighting and decor. Ateet was great & so incredibly helpful. I reviewed with him some of my budget limitations/concerns and he was really helpful in recommending what we could do to get the most esthetic impact without blowing my budget. We went for totally different looks on both nights (Colorful for the Mehndi/Sangeet and more formal for the Western Wedding) & everything came out lovely (everyone kept commenting on how good everything looked). He was such a professional, always organized and prompt in his responses (which isn’t something you always find). They have a great online system for putting in your music requests, schedule, itinerary of events, etc. to make sure everything happens exactly the way you want. I didn’t have to worry about a thing & during our Mehndi event Ateet made sure everything got started in a timely manner. The Dancers & Dhol player were great. We had some specific requests regarding where we wanted them to enter from, stand and perform. Ateet made sure everything happened just as I requested. As for the DJ, DJ Riz was phenomenol!! We had put in music requests, but made it clear we really wanted to keep everyone on the dance floor. He was able to read the crowd perfectly!! He had everyone dancing until the very end of both nights!! He was so amazing…we got tons of compliments on the music, both nights, from all our friends and families (both Desi and American). “We used Ateet and Planet DJ Productions for our wedding ceremony and reception. and we cannot say enough good things about them! From our first meeting with Ateet, he was throwing all kinds of great suggestions our way. They were on point with all of our required tracks and timing for entrances. The equipment they use is top of the line and the sound quality throughout was excellent. We hired a Party Motivator (or, MC if you will) through Planet DJ Productions as well. His name is Kabir and he is awesome! He had our party rocking from start to finish, was very accommodating with last minute schedule changes and requests, and added a great comedic element. All of our guests were ranting and raving about Kabir as our host and we are so glad we went with this option. As for the music selection, it was ON POINT. The DJ and Kabir had a perfect mix of classic indian (for the older crowd), contemporary indian/bollywood, and american top 40. They also played a good contingent of songs we pre-selected to play, and I am so happy to say that we got a solid 30 minutes of 90s hip hop in to close the party as well. Their execution was so solid, they even had my 90-year old grandparents on the dance floor! Once you book Planet DJ Productions, the process is so simple. They set you up in their online system where you pick and choose music, fill out a timeline, and enter all the information for your event down to the tiniest of details. Minimal prep, minimal discussion. Just show up and they execute it to perfection. We also used them for our photobooth and it was a huge hit at our wedding. I’ve been to weddings before with photobooths that have only a few props and very poor lighting. Ateet’s photobooth was the opposite. Tons of props and the lighting was awesome. “We hired Planet DJ Productions for our wedding and reception and it was absolutely amazing!!! the specific services we hired them for was two dhol players, a mobile baraat SUV, DJ, Live Singer, Lighting, Photobooth, LED Stage, Draping, Special Effects, Pyro/Fireworks, Party Motivator and Cocktail Music. The event went off without a hitch at the country club where we had our reception. “Wedding Ceremony at the Hindu Temple in Adelphi, Maryland and Wedding Reception at Marriott Waterfront Baltimore Hotel in Baltimore, Maryland. My wife and I had a unique wedding. She is Serbian and I am Indian. It was a true fusion wedding / Our guest list included people from around the world and we needed a DJ that could provide a diversity of music. The majority of my family and my parent’s friends were Indian. However, we didn’t want the music to be a one side . We were looking for a DJ that understood the unique aspects of both wedding and could keep the dance floor hopping. As far as lighting goes, my wife works in fashion, and I freelance in home decore. We both have very artistic eyes and knew what we wanted to accomplish with our decore. An elegant fall theme was our goal. We also used Ateet’s services at the Baratt and temple. Since we reside in NYC and were getting married in Baltimore, MD. Meeting vendors had to occur at specific times and required flexibility. Ateet was very easy to work with and communicate with. They took time on the phone, on skype and in person to go over every aspect of our event. One the day of our event, Ateet was amazing at the temple and personally was at our venue to ensure everything went according to plan. At our reception, DJ Monica delivered flawlessly. Our guest loved the music and never stopped dancing. They also loved the lighting and we received several complement. “Sangeet at the World Trade Center in Baltimore, Maryland and Wedding Ceremony and Reception at the Grand Lodge of Maryland in Cockeysville, Maryland Planet DJ Productions did a great job at our wedding and sangeet. We used them for a couple of services and we were very happy. They provided music, lighting, a dhol player, mobile baraat, and a photobooth for our wedding at the Grand Lodge of Maryland. Ateet was one of the most professional vendors we worked with. He was extremely responsive and usually emailed us back within the same day. He also has an online planner which helped us organize all of our music. The music at both events was amazing and the Planet DJ Productions team really got the crowd going. We also wanted the reception room to be filled with blue lighting and it looked amazing on our wedding day. The mandap and reception stage also had uplighting and we had a fog machine on the dance floor so the effect was out of this world. A lot of people loved the photobooth and we are really grateful we got it at the last minute. There was a mistake on how the pictures were printed out but Ateet is going out of his way to fix it and send us the new copies, which most vendors would not do. We just received the scrapbook and the photobooth team did a great job with it. You can tell they put a lot of effort into the scrapbook. The dhol player was also amazing. We still receive compliments because he did such a great job and was really enjoying himself. I highly recommend Planet DJ Productions. We were so happy that Ateet was personally available to attend the wedding because he went above and beyond (he even made sure the groom and I had drinks at the reception because we had been running around so much).”

“When I think of THE vendor that could made the greatest impact on our reception it would have to be Ateet Ahuja and Planet DJ Productions. From the moment I start working with him a year in advance in November 2012, he came ready and knew what he was talking about. I knew I could trust him as I’ve seen his other events in person, and they always blew me away. He has everything down from the lighting to the sound and to the MC duties. I booked Ateet a year in advance since I know the guy gets booked up instantly and by booking early, we could work out any details that were special to us. After meeting with him, I got a quote within hours, and he even threw in so much stuff that I’m still trying to figure out how he did it. The guy knows what he’s talking about, and without him alone, I wouldn’t have the connection (and amazing discount) with the decorations people or with the venue itself. He’s done so many events at our venue that they knew him and his company by name, and that’s the type of person you want to run your event from start to finish. Our program was effortless and it felt like the night ended so soon! Also, we mentioned to him that we had an idea of throwing an after party in the bridal suite and let’s just say, he delivered on that too, no surprise there! He threw in a speaker for free with a cable so guests can plug in their music and keep the party going! This is all almost out of order since I’m remembering things as I write this…here’s an example of the big surprise Ateet wanted to show my wife and I…when we walked into the ballroom he wanted to do something special, well…he bought a giant fog system and we walked into a beautiful hall, and it was amazingly lit. Everything was PERFECT! I know who I’d hire for any family party, it’s Ateet and Planet DJs! In fact, our guests loved our event so much that they’re BEGGING us to throw an anniversary party, or just a party in general…and for us, all the credit goes to the DJ!”

You will never feel that they are a vendor of yours because of the personal touch and the kind hearts they bring to your event. “Planet DJ Productions provided the music and lighting for our son and daughter-in-law’s wedding reception that we hosted at the Waterford in Springfield, Virginia. I was looking for someone who could understand two cultures as this was a Pakistani and American event. Ateet was superb and knew what I wanted, I had to spend very little time explaining the evening organization to him and how we wanted excitement yet not a club feeling. It was very helpful to be able to complete the information on their website for the evening which helped me organize my thoughts. The lighting was exactly the right touch and the dance floor monogram was a nice feature. We were able to stay within our budget for the entire production yet had a beautifully lit room. During set-up they were patient with me to choose the right look. The music was wonderful during the cocktail reception as well as the dinner and later for dancing. We had a mixed age group and a mixed culture. Ateet worked with me to coordinate the flow of the evening for announcements and toasts as well as switching music from one genre to another. All of our guests have since told me how much they enjoyed the music and dancing. I am so glad that we chose to have a keepsake cd so that we can go back and re-live the sounds of the evening! “All we can say is WOW! OK..we lied. We have so much positive things to say about Planet DJ Productions! The services we used included cocktail hour and reception music (DJ Ateet), a motivator (MC Jordan) and lighting. Lighting It was impressive! All of our guests were mesmerized by the lighting, which changed colors throughout the night. Our lighting package also included a customized monogram which was projected against the wall. After seeing DJ productions work, we are firm believers that all weddings should have lighting. It totally adds a layer of pizzazz. We even had our macho guys friends describe how beautiful our reception was! Music & MC DJ Ateet and MC Jordan were amazing! They took the time to meet with us to discuss timeline/flow and music selections. We were a little worried because we had very specific details on how we wanted to do our grand entrance/timing and music cue. They were on point and didnt miss a beat! We had our reception at the Springfield Waterford. We had asked the Waterford to triple their standard dance floor size. We started to second guess our decision but found out that the triple sized dance floor was still too small. I kid you not…DJ Ateet had EVERYONE (old, young..it didnt matter) on the dancefloor plus people spilling out because it was so packed! To complement DJ Ateet, MC Jordan was a true professional making announcements, hyping up the crowd and helping keep get everyone on the dancefloor. “We used Planet DJ to provide music and lighting services at our wedding. Hopefully this review provides a good idea for other couples looking for a DJ for their wedding. 1. Selection: Ours is an inter-cultural/international wedding, so we were looking for someone who could not only play top 40, but also play international music. When we first spoke with Ateet he spoke about playing at similar weddings before. It definitely helped that they were rated as the best DJ by knot. 2. Budget: Financially, Planet DJ also made a lot of sense to us. We eventually ended up getting lighting services from Ateet as well. 3. Meetings/Interaction/Communication: The wife and I live in a different city than the wedding venue and we were unable to meet Ateet in person until a couple of weeks before the wedding. This was never an issue since he was always easily reachable over phone or email. If he were unavailable over phone, he would let us know and have us contact him over email. 4. The day of: Our guests and us had a ball at the wedding. We gave Ateet a list of songs to play at the wedding and in some instances the order of playlist. Ateet and Jordan did a great job in working the dance floor that night. I had never seen so many people dance for so long at a wedding. I could only give so much credit to alcohol and I definitely think that the music kept everyone dancing. They did a great job of playing the right songs at the right time; there was no slow moment at the wedding. Our contract for the venue and the DJ ended at 12 AM that night and they had to ask people to leave, as most folks wanted the party to continue. The wife and I both highly recommend Ateet and Planet DJ. Despite all the things that keep one occupied, stressed out and busy on the wedding day, we had a wonderful time and loved the music.”

I had used Ateet and his crew for a graduation party several years ago, where they did an amazing job. When time came for my wedding, they were the first group I called. Compared to other equivalent groups, their prices could not be touched! Ajit and Jordan ended up DJing my wedding and they did a wonderful job. They took the time to find out exactly what I wanted, and made sure they were prepared for the event. When the reception time came, they had everything setup and never missed a beat. We ended up getting their lighting package as well, and it was better than some clubs I’ve been to. Once the music started the dance floor never emptied.
